Can I use gel separator tubes?
No.
What are the tube holders for?
The PlasmaPrep™ will accommodate a variety of tube sizes routinely used for drawing 2, 3, 5, 7 and 10mL specimens. Disposable tube holders must be used to provide support for the tubes, help prevent breakage and contain specimen and tube fragments in the event of a tube failure. Always use the correct tube holders. It is more important to match the dimensions of the tube than the draw volume.

Why do I have to buy different tube holders for the same size tubes?
The tube holders for rubber stopper tubes are slightly different from the tube holders for plastic top tubes. They are specifically made to provide proper tube seating and support.
Why are my tubes rubbing on lid during spin cycle?
Be sure you are using the correct tube holders. Make sure the rotor is empty (no cushions, broken glass, etc.) by tapping the bottom of each rotor well with a pencil. Make sure the stoppers are all the way into the tubes.
My PlasmaPrep™ stops in the middle of the run, the mode light LED’s flash simultaneously and an alarm beeps until the on/off switch is cycled. What is the problem?
The centrifuge is being run severely out of balance, causing the out-of-balance shutdown to engage.
